Edited to add: Thanks to malice I realized I forgot Jaws! Frickin' Jaws! How could I forget Jaws? I managed to slay two music directors in an audition last week (alas, that was about all I managed to do in the audition...) by quoting Jaws. Frickin' Jaws.

Upon learning that Paul Giamatti had a (sort of) (in some circles) famous dad, I present to you

The Commissioners of Baseball

Kenesaw Mountain Landis
Albert B. "Happy" Chandler
Ford C. Frick
William D. "Spike" Eckert
Bowie Kuhn
Peter V. Ueberroth
A. Bartlett Giamatti
Francis T. "Fay" Vincent, Jr.
Allan H. "Bud" Selig

Is it a prerequisite that every commissioner have a funny name? We have The Topographical Feature, The Dwarf, The Motorcar, The Volleyball Move (because I couldnt decide between Lee, Jones or Jonze), The Knife (or The Glam Rocker, its your call there), The...Ueberroth, The Pear, The Jewish Grandma and The Beer. Makes for a bit of diversion while reading the sports pages, anyway.

Not much else to report...rehearsals are going okay, other than a serious lack of commitment on the part of some cast members. I dont think Ive seen the entire cast yet. Even one of the leads (whos old enough to know better, but doesnt) has been slacking off, was rumored to be quitting, was convinced not to, and is now reportedly involved in another production that goes up next weekend. I smell another missed week of rehearsals! Luckily my co-star and I are very simpatico, and when were working together things are accomplished. But seeing others lax work ethic almost engenders the same in me, and I dont like that one bit.

I have a work-related dinner dance to go to tomorrow. Whee. Well, its a chance to get dressed up and have a free (albeit Kosher) meal at a nice hall, and maybe do a little dancing, all on The Little Law Schools dime.

Beats cleaning the bathroom.

Have a good weekend.
