Now Playing - "Both Sides Now" - Joni Mitchell
Now Eating -
Now Feeling -
Now Tweeting - Melanie

You can't make this stuff up.

So HB sends an e-mail containing the following "news" story:

"Upper Crust Art: Elvis, the Toast of the Town

WELLINGTON (Reuters) - A New Zealand supermarket owner has spent two months fashioning his own unique toast to mark the 25th anniversary of Elvis Presley's death.

Maurice Bennett has constructed a portrait measuring 62 square feet in area of the King of Rock 'n' Roll crafted out of more than 4,000 small slices of toast."

Our friend Joany replies, "Stupid. Ridiculous. Of course everyone knows PopTarts would work better. Elvis would have liked that."

I add, "Hmm...how many fried peanut butter and banana sammiches would it take to make a life-size Elvis?"

Later I riffle through the papers recently spewed from our fax machine. And I find a missive from the Huntington Chamber of Commerce, sent out in honor of the King's death 25 years ago, and commemorations thereof. I give it to you, errors intact:

"Five Elvis impersonators will perform as Fried Peanut Butter and Banana sandwiches and Barbecued Pizza's(sic) will be sampled in honor of "THE KING."

Sometimes bad grammar can be your really good friend.

*snort*
