From WoT, via R. You scored as Coney Island. Coney Island! You should live at Coney Island! You could ride the bumper cars and the Cyclone everyday! You can head over to Brighton Beach and drink a ton vodka with a bunch of Russians. You might be a little far away, but you get to escape all the big city stress every day of the week. Normative is a four letter word for you.

What Brooklyn Neighborhood Should You Live In? created with QuizFarm.com |
Considering my grandparents lived about five minutes away, I'm not really surprised. Though how the third-ranked neighborhood becomes the "winner" (even after a tiebreaking question) is beyond me. SCIENCE! And wouldjalookatdat! Question #51 is a roundabout plug for Huz's old friend Jim Leff's website!
So with an hour to spare, the big family meeting with the doctor was cancelled. Seems Mom's internist is concerned with some of her liver levels (enzymes? I dunno, it was a short conversation...) and will not sign off on the surgery until further tests are done. Can't fault him for that. But today's doc (the orthopedic surgeon) went and cancelled the appointment entirely. So even if the tests come out okay, we still only have an 11-day window in which to reschedule. Or we may need to reschedule the surgery entirely, complicating plans for even more people (my bro and I, who will have to rearrange time off, and my aunt, who may come in from Toronto). Mom was admittedly panicked about the whole thing, but also relieved that something was finally about to be done. Huz has expressed concern that the longer we wait, the worse she'll get. There's no way she's going to get any better. We were both kind of at sea tonight, as a result of the abrupt change in plans and lack of concrete information. Dammit. Just when you think you're making progress. But I shouldn't bitch...for me, it's just a change in plans. I'm not the one having major surgery. Eventually.... One of Dad's docs wants to give him...Botox! No, no, not in the face - in his bad arm. Studies have been shown that it can decrease the spasticity in stroke victims, and his doctor thinks he'd be a good candidate for it. And if they could slip a little into his forehead while they're at it.... It's been a rough week for all concerned. Hope you and yours are well, and safe. Goodnight.
