Well, the "Slammer" worm hit our network hard over the weekend. Net, e-mail and local drive access did not return until almost noon yesterday. The Boss is in a tizzy because apparently the patch to subvert this was available 6 months ago, and our IT department didn't avail themselves of it.

I'm just sad because all my IE bookmarks are gone. Oh, the pain...the pain....

So it looks like we'll be appearing on News 12 at an ungodly hour tomorrow morning. We have to be there at 6-ish, and there's confusion as to what will be broadcast live and what will be taped. Who knows if anything'll air at all? I'm anticipating a 4 a.m. wakeup call. I can't be expected to look pretty and sound good under such conditions! Plus there's that full day of work and rehearsal that night. By 10 p.m. tomorrow I should look like 8 miles of bad road.

Purple Chai (and my parents, should they read this) will be happy to know that I have a doctor's appointment scheduled for next Monday. Blood will be drawn, my ears will be figuratively boxed and I will walk out of there duly chastened and much relieved, I'm sure. I know it's stupid to take chances with my health. The thyroid issue was so benign-seeming to me that I put it off and put it off until I finally realized the effect it was having. I'll be good now, I promise.

I have a hive on my upper lip. Stress much?
