My Great Aunt Dotty (who was an artist and a pianist and singer, though by the time I knew her, smoking and throat cancer had ravaged her voice) painted this, and gave it to my mother many years before her death.  I (rather mercenarily, according to Huz - hey, I merely wiped the frame with a tissue to see how dirty it was, and Mom asked if I wanted it) appropriated it this evening, and it now hangs at the entrance to my bedroom. It's nice to have a part of her here. (Not. Mercenary.)
