Now Playing - As evidenced by the last line, a little Howard Jones.
Now Eating - nothing.
Now Feeling - anticipatory.
Now Tweeting - Melanie

1. What did you do in 2007 that you'd never done before?
Bought a home, and spent more money that I thought was humanly possible. Sang in a piano bar until 3:30 in the morning.
2. Did you keep your new year's resolutions and will you make more for next year?
I don't think I made any. For the new year, I hope to get back into exercising, lose ten pounds, be a better friend and focus more. Be it on what's important, on the task at hand, on everything. Focus.
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
No. Two theatre friends have, but I've yet to see their offspring.
4. Did anyone close to you die?
No, thank goodness.
5. What countries did you visit?
None. I don't believe I even ventured out of state.
6. What would you like to have in 2008 that you lacked in 2007?
An even fuller dance card.
7. What dates from 2007 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
September 22, opening night of Sweeney Todd.
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
I carried a show in a huge role I had not even entertained attempting for years to come.
9. What was your biggest failure?
Letting someone down.
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
No more than usual.
11. What was the best thing you bought?
The Barbie Dream Condo.
12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
I got nothin'.
13. Whose behavior made you appalled or depressed?
People who played fast and loose with the facts, and others who were just fast and loose.
14. Where did most of your money go?
The Barbie Dream Condo.
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
The Barbie Dream Condo, and Sweeney Todd.
16. What song will always remind you of 2007?
Heh - "Rehab."
17. Compared to this time last year, are you:

a. happier or sadder? Slightly sadder.
b. thinner or fatter? The same, but softer.
c. richer or poorer? Poorer, but richer in peace of mind. But only in the macro- sense.

18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
Traveling. Lying on the beach. Performing.
19. What do you wish you'd done less of?
Packing, moving and stressing.
20. How did you spend Christmas?
Christmas was spent (as per usual) with Huz's cousins, and later with Bill and H.B., as every Judeo-Christian holiday should be. And then we went to the movies and saw Sweeney Todd
21. Did you fall in love in 2007?
Again, with a musical. And with my new stove.
22. How many one-night stands?
23. What was your favorite TV program?
The late lamented Studio 60.
24. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
No. I can think of someone on my fringes who I will never trust again, and someone else who I doubt I will work with again, but no hate.
25. What was the best book you read?
I don't think I finished a one, but I received several for Christmas, so I'll have material for next year.
26. What was your greatest musical discovery?
Rediscovering all the New Wave I listened to during my formative years. Oh, and Amy Winehouse.
27. What did you want and get?
A really great role in a really great play. A laptop. A home.
28. What did you want and not get?
Other roles in other shows, but not for lack of trying. The moon on a string. A pony.
29. What was your favorite film of this year?
Sweeney Todd.
30. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
I looked through my Filofax and this blog and couldn't find anything specific. I was deep in rehearsals, so I think I put it off for a later date. And I turned 39.
31. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
Less drama.
32. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2007?
33. What kept you sane?
The love of a good man, music, and my friends.
34. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
Still wouldn't kick Chris Meloni out of bed.
35. What political issue stirred you the most?
The war, and the futility thereof.
36. Who did you miss?
My auntie in Toronto. She was in town, but all-too-briefly.
37. Who was the best new person you met?
Brian L.
38. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2007.
Nothing ever goes to plan.
39. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year.
"It's my home - last night I dreamt that I grew wings
I found a place where they could hear me when I sing."
Happy New Year. I wish for you all the health, prosperity and happiness you can handle, and even more. And especially of the latter. Life's too short not to be happy. I hope you find it in everything that you see.
