Yes, he's barely a toddler. But apparently we are raising a whiny, picky eater who (as my dad would probably say) has "hand trouble." (Okay, paw trouble. He is way overdue for a nail trimming and he WILL NOT LET US ANYWHERE NEAR HIM WITH THE CLIPPER.) And who is bitey. And has no concept of "bedtime."

We are not so great at this kitty parenting thing.

I must lay quite a bit of fault at the feet of Huz, who fed him at least five times Saturday, all of which Ernest heartily spurned. Oh, he has become Master of The Spurn. This after I got to briefly enjoy status as Favored Human the day before, thanks to my wise choice of Trader Joe's Ocean Fish, Salmon & Rice Dinner and a new double-wide catnip scratching pad. He loooooved that kitty food, but once it was gone, he was all about The Spurn.

And of course there's Huz the Kitty Martyr. And Huz who has been home with him all summer, but has gone back to teaching Catholic boys how to play the drums four days a week. Ernest Hemingway had a rude awakening.

But who couldn't spoil THIS FACE?
